San Diego State University announced today the approval of the state’s first LGBT Studies major to start spring 2012.
The LGBT Studies major at SDSU will be the first of its kind within California and the California State University system. SDSU has a rich tradition of supporting the LGBT community within its school and state network. The LGBT Studies program will focus 27 upper division units in the major and classes will be formally announced by the university in the coming months.
The university will also expand current LGBT course offerings to include Valuing Human Diversity, LGBT Literature and Culture, and Queer Texts and Contexts.
