Romney makes Memorial Day appearance with McCain in San Diego

Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney and Sen. John McCain both made appearances in San Diego, Memorial Day. 10 News reported that they attended a tribute at the Veterans Museum.

Speaking at the event, Romney warned of threats from around the world and said that to follow the course of Europe and shrink the military to pay for social needs would mean, “… there’d be no one that could stand to protect us.”

Romney told the crowd that the route to go was to, “… commit to preserve America as the strongest military in the world, second to none …”

Romney continued, “We choose that course in America not so that we just win wars, but so we can prevent wars because a strong America is the best deterrent to war there ever has been invented.”

Romney also called McCain a hero and spoke of heroism saying, “We’re a nation that has been formed and preserved by heroes.”
