A same-sex couple in Portland, Tex. were shot Friday in a neighborhood park, KZTV News is reporting. Mollie Judith Olgin, 19, was found dead at the scene. Her girlfriend, Mary Christine Chapa, 18, survived a horrific shot in the head.

Both of the young women’s bodies were found in a grassy area of Violet Andrews Park by two passerbys. According to investigators, the teens were shot around the midnight hour on Friday. They were found nine hours later early Saturday morning. Chapa, found alive but in critical condition, was immediately transported to a local hospital where she remains in serious condition.

Authorities believe the women were led into a remote, grassy area by their attacker where they were later shot with a large caliber handgun.

The couple had been dating for several months according to friends.

Officials have not released potential suspects or motive for the crime.
