In 2014, Hispanics/Latinos accounted for 24% (10,887) of the estimated new HIV diagnoses in the United States and 6 dependent areas, despite making up 17% of the US population.

Sunday, Oct. 15 is National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day (NLAAD)!

The 2017 NLAAD theme is “To Defeat HIV You’re a Superhero. Use Your Superpowers.”

The Latino Commission on AIDS (LCOA) , the Hispanic Federation and other organizations organize this day to build capacity for non-profit organizations and health departments to reach Latino/Hispanic communities, promote HIV testing, and provide HIV prevention information and access to care.

The San Diego LGBT Center is open MondaySaturday with free HIV testing available every day. Be sure to talk to your test counselor to see if PrEP is right for you. Call 619-692-2077 ext 0 for an appointment.
